Haasch is a working collaboration between Jan Schutt and Alison Schutt who design and create unique objects for art, design and the environment. Our aim, where possible is to address principles of sustainable design.
We have designed innovative lamps by reusing faulty printed circuit boards that converts the throwaway into elegant decorative lighting. Our aim has been to take these faulty circuit boards and design lamps to enhance a home or social environment and to prevent reusable waste from going to landfill.
The lamps exemplify our western lifestyle, which is reliant upon electronics and the need to consume and dispose. They are advertising for promotion of “industrial discards” as a useful resource in 21st Century contemporary design. Finally, they are turn of the century objects, representative of the electronic and synthetic era and a move to sustainable living.
